Die Zukunft der Kritik
In autumn 2022, the Akademie der Künste in Berlin and the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn hosted the congress “Future of Criticism”. Over the course of five days, visitors met 90 international speakers to address questions of art and cultural criticism. Together with both institutions, we designed the identity of the congress.
In this day and age, everyone is a critic. But where do the criteria we use come from? Institutions such as theaters, museums and scientific institutes have to explain and promote their work themselves, as independent mediation and evaluation by the general media is on the decline. The two-part symposium “The Future of Criticism” dealt with these issues.
We designed different media for this purpose. The design works with an artificial gold object in combination with clear typography, and there is also an artistic invention with memes from CEM A.
