I only work with lost and found

Is it even possible to work with something that is not lost or found? Doesn’t every material, every concept also tell its own story? Who do things and ideas belong to when they are lost and found again?

Under the title “I only work with lost and found”, the Goldrausch exhibition brings together individual and heterogeneous works by 15 artists. Lost and found refers to unlearning and losing as active actions, to what is hidden and repressed, and at the same time names a variety of possibilities for rediscovering, intervening and reassembling. At the center of many of the works on display is the identification and rediscovery of shadowed knowledge, the confrontation with memory and loss, as well as the development of activist strategies within and outside the field of art. The exhibition includes paintings on canvas and in space, photography and multimedia installations, process-based experimental arrangements, performances, research-based documentation and sculptures.

The design works with handwriting – the title is written by a different artist on each medium. The different handwritings refer to the theme of the exhibition.
