Käthe Kollwitz Prize Publications

Publication series

The Käthe Kollwitz Prize for Visual Artists is awarded by the Akademie der Künste every year. We have been designing the associated publication series since 2021. The design follows a clear principle, but always leaves room for the individual artistic position.

Candida Höfer

Candida Höfer’s work, which has grown over five decades, ranks among the photographic avant-garde of the present day. Her large-format works show public and semi-public spaces such as historical libraries, archive rooms, storage rooms, castles, museums, opera houses, zoological gardens and other buildings – places of encounter, communication, memory and knowledge, relaxation and recreation. We designed the exhibition graphics and the accompanying catalog.

Sandra Vásquez de la Horra (2023)

In her works, Sandra Vásquez de la Horra addresses contemporary conflicts such as questions of gender order, intercultural reflections and social taboos. Her poetic, medially heterogeneous works focus on the human condition. We designed the exhibition graphics and the accompanying catalog.

Nan Goldin

The Käthe Kollwitz Prize 2022 was awarded to the photographer Nan Goldin. The US-American artist occupies a central position in contemporary photography worldwide. Her focus is on the themes of love, sexuality and violence, and she campaigns for acceptance and recognition of the LGBTQ* scene. We designed the exhibition graphics and the accompanying catalog.
